A couple of weeks ago, our friend Sim came to visit us while we went skiing in the mountains (more on which when he sends us the photos!). On his final night in Tokyo, we headed to the Alice in Wonderland themed restaurant in Ginza for some tea party and croquet frolics.
From the moment we exited the lift, we were taken to a world surrounded by pages from the book, and greeted by the Mad Hatter. Arriving unbooked at half 7 on a Saturday night, we only had to wait around 15 minutes before we were taken to our table. An elaborate menu was brought to us by a waitress dressed as Alice.
We were given some tea party bread as our cover charge, before ordering an Alice shaped nachos and spring roll starter, roast beef and gnocchi in red-wine sauce for mains, and a chocolate gateau and mille-feuille (no I don’t know either) for pudding.
Our general impression was very favourable, the food was delicious and the presentation sublime. Compared to some of the other themed restaurants we saw online the price was pretty good too. We even got a picture with Alice on the way out!
